Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow: Top 3 Laser Hair Removal Treatments in the Philippines

An average of seven out of ten women have a hair removal ritual as part of their daily routine. For decades women have shaved, tweezed and waxed their way to hairlessness until the 1990’s – laser hair removal manila was now available. The advent of this new technology made it easier for both men and women alike, to permanently rid hair in unwanted areas with the help of lasers.
Fast forward to 2010’s, there’s now a buffet of laser procedures apt for your hair type, skin tone and lifestyle! Although the process and specifications are different, the principle behind the technology is the same.  Hair removal lasers produce a light that is converted to heat energy once absorbed by the skin, this then prevents the hair follicles from growing more hair or slows down the growth rate to a crawl.
Today, we are naming the pros and cons of the Top 3 Permanent Laser Hair Removal Manila treatments in the Philippines:

1. IPL – Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal
Not only do many facial care center manila offer this service, but many salons carry it too. The IPL is not strictly a laser, but an equivalent. The light created by the IPL machine works in a similar manner to the hair follicle as a laser would.
Some IPL hair systems include Aculight, Epilight, Vasculight and PhotoDerm.
Advantages of IPL:
  • Has no set wavelength which makes it easier to personalize the treatment for each patient.
  • Quickly covers large areas of skin. (Hello, smooth legs!)
  • Reduced risk of damaging surrounding tissues compared to other laser treatments.
Disadvantages of IPL:
  • Cannot be used on sun exposed skin
  • Not effective on all hair and skin types, NG Yag Lasers such as revlite skin treatment manila
  • Can cause damage to pigment producing cells, which can leave you patches of discolored skin. (YIPES!)
2. Diode Laser Hair Removal
This hair removal treatment is made up of diodes that are out together to form the light source of the laser. The wavelength of this laser can also be customized to suit your needs. A common flaw of earlier lasers is their inability to work with dark skin types, but with this laser, people with darker skin types and thick, coarse hair have nothing to worry about.
Some Diode Laser Hair Removal Systems include Apex 800, Epistar, F1 Diode, Laserlite and Light Sheer.

Advantages of Diode Laser Hair Removal:
  • Wavelength can be customized to suit a patient’s needs.
  • Can quickly treat large areas of skin.
  • Achieves safe and deep skin penetration.
  • Minimal downtime.
  • Can be used on dark skin types.

Disadvantages of Diode Laser Hair Removal:
  • Severe side effects may include burns and skin discoloration.
  • The lasers have been linked to urticaria.
  • Since the technology is fairly new, there’s little research on its long-term side effects.

3. Nd:YAG Laser Hair Removal
This solid state laser works are wavelengths of 1064nm and can also work at double frequency, creating 532nm wavelengths. It has also been said to work on all skin types, which automatically brings this system a notch above many laser hair removal systems in the market. Another notable benefit of this laser is its ability to remove tattoos.
Some Nd Yag Laser systems include Athos, CoolGlide, Lyra and revlite skin treatment manila.

Advantages of Nd Yag Laser Hair Removal:
  • Works on all skin types.
  • Efficiently treats large areas of skin.
  • Significantly longer delay in hair regrowth compared to other treatments.
  • Exceeds IPL treatment results.
  • No downtime.
  • Can remove tattoos.
  • Currently the most advanced laser treatment on the market.
Disadvantages of Nd Yag Laser Hair Removal:
  • None as of writing.

Whether you visit any facial care center manila, a salon/spa or zoom straight to dermatologist’s office, it’s best to conduct thorough research before taking the plunge with all medical procedure – cosmetic or otherwise.

Revlite Skin Treatment: The Most Effective Treatment for Age Spots

It’s hot and humid and the last thing on your mind will always be sunscreen. Until liver spots start to magically appear on your face, and then you begin to panic. You begin to scour every facial care center manila in search for a remedy.  Luckily, revlite skin treatment manila is now available in the Philippines.
Liver spots (or Sun Spots) are darkened spots that appear on some parts of the skin that are most exposed to the sun. This hyperpigmentation of the skin is common for people over the age of 50! Granted that most cases of hyperpigmentation are harmless, who would want to sport dark patches of skin?

If you’ve ignored to follow the advice of using sunscreen in your younger years, it isn’t too late to start now. But if liver spots and other unwanted sun damage has crept onto your skin, they can be difficult to remove.  Thankfully, recent technological advancements have made it possible to lighten and correct hyperpigmentation with revlite skin treatment manila.

What is Revlite?
Revlite is a multi-tasking miracle in a single procedure. The treatment is revolutionary breakthrough as it addresses many problematic skin conditions for all skin types. This non-invasive procedure uses a beam of light that features a PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse, this high-energy pulse then breaks down skin blemishes such as liver spots, age spots, freckles and even a tattoo!
It even promotes collagen growth, making the skin even more supple and youthful. Truly a win-win for all!

Will the treatment bring discomfort?
Many patients describe the revlite skin treatment to be virtually pain-free or feel a tingling sensation, similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Mild discomfort is to be expected at best, and some redness on the treated area that dissipates within a few hours’ time.
If a tattoo is on your “to remove” list, you may feel more discomfort than usual. Ask your doctor if he can administer topical anesthesia for the pain.

How long is the treatment?
Treatment usually lasts about 20-30 minutes, but it all depends on the condition and skin condition that needs to be remedied. Nevertheless, the procedure is still faster than many skin rejuvenation or laser hair removal manila treatments available.

When can I see results?
Revlite treats many difficult skin conditions at varying rates. Most pigmented spots are removed within 4 to 6 treatments.
Tattoo removal takes longer depending on its size, amount of ink used and depth of the ink on skin.  Professional tattoos usually need 6 to 15 treatments.
Just like many laser hair removal manila treatments, Revlite Hair removal will also require multiple treatments over a longer period of time, as hair follicles go through different stages.

Pre-Procedure and Post-Procedure Care
For Revlite to produce consistent results and cause minimal discomfort, you must follow these pre and post procedure do’s and don’ts
Before Treatment:
  • Avoid sun exposure.
  • Wear sunscreen everyday, 3 days prior to treatment.
  • Do not take alcohol, vitamin E or aspirin 3 days prior to treatment.
  • Do not use products containing glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, tretenoin, azelaic acid, or kojic acid 3 days prior to treatment.
  • After Treatment:
  • Avoid sun exposure to prevent further sun damage.
  • Use mild soap and refrain from using any whitening products.
  • Wear sunblock everyday.

Why choose Revlite?
The beauty of Revlite is that the old discoloration doesn’t return over time. Nevertheless, when you constantly get excessive sun exposure and pollution, new liver spots can begin to form on different areas of the skin.

Once treated with Revlite, with proper sun protection and awareness, you can prevent those nasty dark patches from appearing into your life.

Exilis Elite Treatment: Get rid of wrinkles and fat with One Treatment!

There comes a certain point in life when nothing seems to fit you right, whether it’s your current city, musical tastes and que horror the wardrobe you’ve had for decades. Truth is not many us feel comfortable with aging, while we value the beauty of growing wiser through the years, its aesthetic manifestations aren’t too pretty. Even if we visit every facial care center manila.
I realized this as I was getting ready for a night-out, with the children away at university, everything was just perfect as my husband and I have rekindled the ‘ol date night. I slipped on an absolutely stunning little black dress that I’ve had for almost 8 years – and wouldn’t you know, it still fits! But sadly, even as the dress looked fabulous on me, my body didn’t look good. My skin was loose!
I’ve always been frequenting dermatologists and have had procedures such as facials, laser hair removal manila, diamond peels and many more, all in the pursuit of preserving my facial glow, however I forgot that the body ages just as much.
This led me to find the Exilis Elite treatment.
Exilis is a non-surgical treatment that reduces fat, tightens the skin on the face, neck and body and improves the overall quality of your skin without any downtime.
We’re long past the era of invasive Nip and Tuck procedures, that exilis elite treatment Philippines can do the job using safe Radio Frequency.
The procedure stimulates collagen production that helps tighten sagging skin. On the face, it can help tone loose facial skin and minimize unpleasant jowls giving you a more youthful look – it’s just as good as a face lift.
The revlite skin treatment manila is also a good option for getting rid of wrinkles and sagging areas, but I prefer the Exilis because it is also used for body-shaping!
It eliminates stubborn fast deposits in the tummy area (great for moms like myself!), thighs, bra fat, love handles and even your arms and knees.

Why Choose Exilis Elite Treatment?
There are many slimming and sagging skin treatments in the market, but I’ll tell you why Exilis the best option to date.

  • You can see noticeable results after just 2 treatments
  •  Depending on the area to be treated, sessions last just 30-60 minutes. It’s even faster than a salon appointment.
  •  Virtually pain free! Unlike some laser procedures that’ll leave a stinging sensation, radio frequency Exilis feels more like a warm massage
  •  No prep time and downtime. Pop in the clinic and come straight after. It’s that easy!

Are there any side effects?

Other than the warm sensation felt during the procedure, there are some reports of having mild redness on the treated after the procedure, but it also dissipates in a span of 2 hours.

Is the Exilis Elite Treatment right for me?

The treatment is safe for patients who are 13 years old and above. If you are well-above that age, you are good to go.

If you are a man or woman who has had problems with getting rid of sagging skin, wrinkled skin and specific stubborn areas of fat can use this procedure.
Research goes a long way when choosing a cosmetic procedure, but with the numerous benefits and hardly any side-effects, exilis elite treatment Philippines is definitely a good place to start.

Five Signs of Stress In Your Skin

It’s relatively easy to spot people who are stressed just by looking at their skin. What many don’t know is that apart from the common eye bags, dry and darkened skin, there are a lot more signs that can tell you whether a person or even you is experiencing stress.

The following are five examples of stress manifesting on our skin.

Eye bags

Morning eye bags or puffiness is normal because your circulatory system moves more slowly when you are sleeping, leaving excess fluid beneath the eyes. But eye bags that persist throughout the day can be a sign that your body needs more sleep because a stressed body can prevent the circulatory system from flushing out this extra fluid completely.

Acne
When you are tense, your body releases stress hormones including cortisol, which may increase the skin's oil production. Excess oil can get trapped inside hair follicles, along with dirt and dead skin cells, producing acne and pimples.

Hives
Hives are red, swollen, itchy bumps on the skin. Some people get them as part of an allergic reaction to an insect sting, food, or medicine. Others notice hives popping up on their skin on a more regular basis.

This skin problem may also be caused by dysbiosis which refers to a microbial imbalance in your stomach. Dysbiosis is the direct effect of stress while hives are conditions that stem out from having it.

Hair problems
Stress can cause the melanin in your hair to stop producing, leaving it gray. It also causes your hair to stay longer on its resting phase (telogen) compared to its growing phase (anagen), resulting to an imbalance cycle which leads to more hair falling out.

Dryness

Stress increases the hormone cortisol, which damages skin's ability to hold on to water. It also reduces the lipid barrier on the skin, allowing fluids to evaporate which leads to dryness.
Stress can be caused by mental, physical or emotional challenges and a lot of skin problems can actually be attributed to mental stress. This is because the brain and skin are derived from the same cells, giving them some kind of connection.

In addition, a lot of nerve endings are connected to the skin which explains why we blush whenever we feel shy.  It’s the same case for stress. Its manifestation on our skin is our body’s way of letting us know that we need to start paying attention.

Countering stress effects on our skin can be done by having a healthier lifestyle and learning to manage stress. But for cases that require more advance solutions, professional skin care services are recommended.

Attention! 6 Tips to protect your skin this summer

Ultraviolet Rays (UV) from the sun can cause our skin damage in as fast as 15 minutes. Long exposure and damage can lead to various forms of skin cancer. The sun isn't the only skin damaging predator— tanning beds, smoking and unhealthy diet can also have ill effects on the body’s outer layer. The key is to be a sun savvy and know how to keep your skin healthy this summer. Ms. Tammy Losse, a mayo clinic health system nurse practitioner offers tips to help protect your skin.

1. Avoid sun between 10 am to 2pm. This time is when the sun is most intense and produces sunburn. If you are outside during these hours, seek shades using umbrella or a tree. Use also protective clothes such as rash guards and sunscreen even when in the shade.

2. Use sunscreen outdoors.  The higher SPF the better as it indicates increased protection.  The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using at least SPF 30. Use sunscreen even on cloudy or cool days as the damage from the sun’s rays may still occur. Re-apply every 2 hours or after swimming or when sweating. Be careful on the expiration date—shelf life usually three years.

3. Always wear sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection. Protective sunglasses help prevent damages to the sensitive skin around your eyes specially this summer.
so yeah couple shades again, trekking going to anghalo falls

4. Avoid using of tanning beds. Tanning beds produce harmful UVA and UVB rays, which increase the risk for skin cancer— including melanoma—the deadliest form of skin cancer.  There is still now proven evidence that use of tanning beds to obtain a base tan decreases your skin of sunburn. Using tan beds has a chance to develop into cataracts.

5. Perform regular skin checks in skin care clinics.  Monitor any new skin changes that may occurred. Look for any changes such as moles, freckles or birthmarks.

6.Make healthy choices. Maintain healthy skin by not taking any vices such as smoking, as smoking damages collagen and elastic in your skin. Treat your skin gently by using mild soap and daily moisturizers. Eat healthy diet full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plenty of water. Also, engage yourself in stress reducing activity and get some regular sleep daily.

Omg! The Best Skin Care Guide Ever!

Summer is already here. It’s that time of the year again to have fun with your BFFs and enjoy swimming at the beach. But first, you need to ask yourself, “Is your skin summer-ready?” There are many ways to get that healthy, glowing skin you've always wanted. You can improve your skin instantly with these easy-to-follow skin care tips.

1. Always remove your make-up. We all know how using make-up can make us more beautiful and it is always important for us to look our best, especially if we are meeting with many people each day. However, no matter how tired we feel after a long, hard day of work, we should always make it a priority to remove make-up before going to bed. You can use cleansing milk that has active ingredients to thoroughly clean your face as well as your neck. Try looking for a cleanser that has Aloe Vera extract, wheat germ oil, sweet almond oil, and nut oil to help soothe your skin and leave it feeling fresh and clean.

2. Exfoliate. The air, as well as our environment, is not as clean as we would like it to be. If you are one of the many people who work in the city, you will always be at risk of exposure to dirt, dust and other impurities that can cause damage or harm your skin. That is why exfoliating has become a necessity for most women. You can try looking for an exfoliating cream that is suitable for all types of skin. This will help remove all the impurities and dead skin cells that have accumulated on your skin’s surface. If you exfoliate regularly, your pores will tighten, your cells renew faster, and you will have a brighter complexion.

3. Control redness and skin irritation. People have varying skin types and for some, using just any type of skin product may cause irritation and redness to the skin. If you have sensitive skin, you’ll be prone to having breakouts as well as uneven skin tone. Try using a product that is specially designed for sensitive skin. Always remember to do research and look for a professional skin care products store before you apply any creams, toners or other products on your skin.
